The guitar is a musical instrument with ancient roots that is used in a wide variety of musical styles. It typically has six strings, twelve string guitars also exist and simply produce a much fuller sound. Acoustic Bass guitars are also widely used in today's music industry and have 4 strings.

Guitars are recognized as one of the primary instruments for song writers and their origination of material. Guitars may be played acoustically, where the tone is produced by vibration of the strings and modulated by the hollow body, or they may be fitted with a pick up system (Electro Acoustics ) which when connected to an acoustic amplifier can electronically manipulate tone.

Electric guitars are normally solid body which need to be used in conjunction with an amplifier as there is little or no sound produced without.
